Welcome to SurFix Handyman Services (“SurFix,” “we,” “us,” “our”). By booking a service, requesting a quote, or using our website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

**Contractor Qualifications & Insurance**

SurFix Services is operated by an independent contractor with over 15 years of hands-on experience in residential and commercial maintenance, automotive repair, and construction. The contractor is not currently insured. By hiring SurFix Services or signing any agreement, you acknowledge and accept this lack of insurance and agree to maintain your own homeowner or liability coverage. Nothing in these terms constitutes legal advice; please consult an attorney or insurance professional if you have questions about risk and coverage.

1) Estimates & Pricing

We provide flat-rate quotes based on the information available at the time (photos, descriptions, walkthroughs, and on-site conditions).

If the scope changes due to hidden damage, code issues, material changes, access limitations, or customer requests, pricing may change.

Any changes will be communicated before additional work is performed whenever possible.

2) Service Call / Minimum Visit

A service call or minimum visit charge may apply and is due at time of service unless otherwise agreed in writing.

3) Materials & Supplies

Customers may provide materials.

If SurFix provides materials, they may be billed at cost + 15% to cover sourcing, pickup, and handling.

4) Access & Customer Responsibilities

You agree to provide safe access to the work area, including:

Clear work space (when possible)

Access to water/electricity if needed

Pets secured and children supervised

Proper parking/access instructions

Delays caused by restricted access may affect scheduling and pricing.

5) Workmanship & Limitations

SurFix performs repairs and installations using professional methods, but you understand:

Some repairs involve existing materials that may be aged, worn, damaged, or previously installed incorrectly.

Cosmetic matching (paint, texture, stain, tile, grout) may vary due to lighting, aging, and material differences.

6) Warranty / No Guarantee of Existing Conditions

SurFix warrants labor/workmanship for [30 days] from completion unless otherwise stated in writing.

This warranty does not cover:

Customer-supplied materials

Manufacturer defects

Pre-existing damage, rot, mold, water damage, pests, structural issues

Normal wear and tear

Damage caused by other contractors, weather, or misuse

Some jobs involve conditions we cannot see until work begins (behind walls, under floors, inside plumbing/electrical). We do not guarantee outcomes affected by hidden conditions.

7) Licensed Trades & Permit Notice

SurFix may coordinate licensed professionals when required (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural, etc.).

Some work may require permits depending on local laws. The customer is responsible for permit decisions unless agreed otherwise in writing.

8) Safety & Hazardous Conditions

SurFix may refuse or stop work if unsafe conditions exist, including (but not limited to):

Active water leaks, gas smells, electrical hazards

Mold or biohazards

Aggressive animals or unsafe environments

In these cases, a service call fee may still apply.

9) Property Damage Disclaimer

While SurFix takes precautions, some repairs/installations may involve minor unavoidable disturbances (dust, noise, vibration, paint scuffs, drywall debris, etc.).

SurFix is not responsible for:

Hidden wiring/plumbing behind walls

Pre-existing damage

Material failure due to age/poor prior installation

Customers must notify SurFix of concerns during the job or within 24 hours of completion.

10) Payments

Payment is due:

At time of service completion (unless agreed otherwise in writing)

Or as outlined in a written service agreement/quote

Accepted payment methods may include card, ACH, invoice, or other approved methods. Unpaid balances may result in collections or legal action.

11) Cancellations & Rescheduling

Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

12) Commercial / Recurring Service

Commercial and recurring service plans may require:

Signed service agreement

Deposit or billing setup

Scheduled visit windows

Service frequency, scope, and pricing may be updated based on conditions and workload.

13) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

SurFix’s total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the specific service performed.

SurFix is not liable for:

Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages

Lost profits, lost business, or delays outside our control

14) Disputes

If there is a concern, the customer must contact SurFix first so we can attempt a resolution.

Any dispute must be brought in the appropriate court in the county/state where the services were performed, unless otherwise required by law.

15) Photos & Marketing

SurFix may take before/after photos for documentation and quality purposes.

We will not display your personal information publicly. If you want photos not used for marketing, notify us in writing.

16) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on our website.
